It is a fairly common belief that Tarot cards are not well suited for getting answers to one-syllable questions. In theory this is true, but life in the form of clients makes its own adjustments. So all the same, where is Yes, and where is No, and where is neither this nor that?

In this short article, I will try to talk about possible practical approaches to solving this problem and about my personal experience. I will use Tarot Thoth, because there is a certain logic that you can rely on.

Practice has shown that you can get a monosyllabic answer to the Tarot in three simple but working ways: with one card, two cards, or a layout for an arbitrary number of cards.

Layout on one card and interpretation of the answer

It is important to immediately understand that none of the Major Arcana here can be an unequivocal answer to such a question. In the Tarot of Thoth, the Major Arcana are the paths on the Tree of Life. And the way, it is like a mode of transport, in itself is neither good nor bad. It is rather convenient or inconvenient for solving the task: it is obvious that it is best to fly from Moscow to St. Petersburg by plane or go by Sapsan. But not if you are put on the federal wanted list.

As for the Cards of the Court, the well-known subjectivism that each such card carries in itself can result in a response with reservations. And this is unlikely to suit us. However, as a rule, the guys from the team of Swords do not at all seek to reassure the querent. Comrades from the detachment of Cups strive to evade answers. And only the brigades of Wands and Disks are distinguished by noticeable optimism. But personally, I prefer not to get involved with them in such matters, but I count only the Minor Arcana as an answer, based on its radicalness and standard interpretation.

The higher one card is to Kether, the higher its weight relative to the second.
